Self-stabilizing algorithms for the planarization problem in complete bipartite networks

چکیده
The maximum planarization problem asks to find a spanning planar subgraph having the largest number of edges. In this paper, we propose two simple selfstabilizing algorithms for this problem in complete bipartite graphs. The first one is an approximation algorithm; it finds a planar subgraph of approximation ratio 0.6 in the average case. Based on the techniques used in the first algorithm, the second algorithm finds a maximum planar subgraph. The time complexity is O(n) rounds for both algorithms.

META-HEURISTIC ALGORITHMS FOR MINIMIZING THE NUMBER OF CROSSING OF COMPLETE GRAPHS AND COMPLETE BIPARTITE GRAPHS
The minimum crossing number problem is among the oldest and most fundamental problems arising in the area of automatic graph drawing. In this paper, eight population-based meta-heuristic algorithms are utilized to tackle the minimum crossing number problem for two special types of graphs, namely complete graphs and complete bipartite graphs. A 2-page book drawing representation is employed for ...

متن کاملSelf-stabilizing Algorithms for Graph Coloring with Improved Performance Guarantees
In the self-stabilizing model we consider a connected system of autonomous asynchronous nodes, each of which has only local information about the system. Regardless of the initial state, the system must achieve a desirable global state by executing a set of rules assigned to each node. The paper deals with the construction of a solution to graph coloring in this model, a problem motivated by co...

A bipartite graph is biplanar if the vertices can be placed on two parallel lines (layers) in the plane such that there are no edge crossings when edges are drawn straight. The 2-Layer Planarization problem asks if k edges can be deleted from a given graph G so that the remaining graph is biplanar. This problem is NP-complete, as is the 1Layer Planarization problem in which the permutation of t...
متن کاملMixed cycle-E-super magic decomposition of complete bipartite graphs
An H-magic labeling in a H-decomposable graph G is a bijection f : V (G) ∪ E(G) → {1, 2, ..., p + q} such that for every copy H in the decomposition, ΣνεV(H) f(v) + ΣeεE(H) f(e) is constant. f is said to be H-E-super magic if f(E(G)) = {1, 2, · · · , q}. A family of subgraphs H1,H2, · · · ,Hh of G is a mixed cycle-decomposition of G if every subgraph Hi is isomorphic to some cycle Ck, for k ≥ ...
